Souls of Mischief co-founder A-Plus and Compound 7 cohort AAGEE are proud to announce the release of their collaboration Molly’s Dirty Water. The hip-hop veterans cite their experiences partying at EDM clubs as inspiration for this experimental new project, which fuses a hip-hop attitude with the sonic vocabulary of EDM production styles. The blend of instrumentals and tracks with lyrics furthers the album’s EDM aesthetic. Labeling their character “Molly” as a drug reference would be an oversimplification: A-Plus says of their concept, “…some songs are more about a cool girl named Molly, others about a not so cool girl named Molly.”
While A-Plus and AAGEE are no strangers to experimentation – the Oakland, CA based musicians’ last release was the Red Hot Chili Peppers-inspired release Pepper Spray – the new album Molly’s Dirty Water pushes the boundaries of hip-hop even further. A-Plus describes, “I was free to try different things out both lyrically and production-wise. Once again, stuff that wouldn’t fly in the Hiero paradigm. I enjoyed the freedom to experiment, because any hip-hop purist backlash I’d normally get was kind of removed from the gate, due to the experimental nature of the music and subject matter…”
“Molly’s Dirty Water” will be available on January 14th, 2014 via Hieroglyphics Imperium.
Dr. G is a talented producer from Manchester who is possibly one of the UK’s most unsung heroes making beats for English, American & Eastern European hip-hop artists from underground, old school, new school, independent artists and some major artists respectively. Starting out as a DJ back in 1993, he became involved in the organising of events with the Sony Music Street Team and became an official Def Jam Records Street Team Rep promoting numerous events at the Manchester M.E.N with Lauran Hill, Destiny’s Child and Dead Prez. This position allowed him to enter a large celebrity circle meeting some of the industry greats in the form of Eminem, Destiny’s Child, TQ, Common Sense, Xzibit, Wu Tang, Saigon and Mohamed Ali.
Spending countless days in the studio he soon realised that is was the creation of music he enjoyed most, and spent most of his time working on mixtapes for local acts & artists such as Shotty Horror, Rokket, Meany, Omen RA, Hoodman (Tyler Daley) and HiJack Hood. In 2007 Dr. G released ‘Above The Systematic Matrix’ under Revolutionary Records featuring many of UK and US artists, which was then followed in 2008 by his debut solo and self-produced album ‘Last Dayz’ featuring Shyheim, finally giving him a starting point. As his sound grew he produced tracks for New York underground legends St. Laz and Opium, which led to him getting recognition from DJ Kay Slay on New York’s Hot 97 many times, as well as other mixtape deejays, radio stations and leading worldwide blogs.
Dr. G soon started gaining notoriety with other stateside artists such as Shabazz The Disciple, Agallah Don Bishop, Chuck Burns, Rap P and more recently being involved with Hell Razah and his Ghetto Government Movement project, producing most of his album which will be due out early 2014. Additionally he has also been working with Inspectah Deck and Fes Taylor, as well as Southern artist Champ Rushmore, Poe Mack, and Crafsmen from V.A. and Diem, Ghost Dog (1100 Hunters), Chox (Chose) Mac and Joose Jones III from N.C. respectively.
Now as we gear up for Dr. G Presents ‘The Coalition’ due out mid February 2014, a compilation album which features St. Laz, Virgil Kent, Scottie Flippen, Chox (chose) Mac, Poe Mack, Crafsmen, Ghost Dog, Rap P, Stockmashin’, Born Ready, Big Sono, Twisted Insane, Fatal Hussein, Young Noble, Yukmouth, Outlaws, Hell Razah, Inspectah Deck and more, we get this exclusive visual so you can get to know the name. Dr. G… a man with the beats on lock!

Drug Corpse sees IMS teaming up with new vocal collaborators such as; Cappo, Geebag, TPS FAM, More1, Cor Stadik, Deeflux & Efeks, as well as collaborations with long-time associates Joey Menza, Theme, Oliver Sudden and more. All chosen for their individuality style and incredible artistic abilities.
Musically gritty, bleak and stripped down to the bare bones. The signature sound of IMS is evident throughout this recording, hard drums fire out from the MPC, disturbing analogue soundbites and soulful voice snatches cut in and out. Bass lines twist and roll underneath while the crackle of old vinyl cuts thru the mix from start to finish. Pushing the sonic boundaries IMS give you their unique style. Originality being the key in every track while giving a nod to the architects of that golden era Hip Hop sound.
Drug Corpse is available as a bundle pack of formats. The pack includes a Jewel case CD, a 74 Min Tape Cassette and a Starch Records medical prescription – this prescription includes a download code to acquire the album in high quality MP3 format.

When You Want To Hear The Truth, You Want Bink$ To Get In The Booth…
His name is Bink$ Win$ton – not “the other guy that be rappin’ with The D.I.M.E.” And his brand, Dolla Bill Entertainment, proudly presents “MANish”, his debut EP. Released on June 20 2013, “MANish” explodes with the truth, as seen through the eyes of Bink$. Consequently that truth is delivered in an unvarnished, rough edged crystal shot glass. Recorded with Grammy nominated engineer Jeremy Goody (Megasonic Sound), and mixed/mastered by Deagan Mack Adams (Ineffable Music), “MANish” is made beautiful in its design and simplicity – yet dangerously appealing as it lunges for your jugular. To any fan of good rap music, the “MANish” EP is agreeably “something to look forward to” (Lou Nutt, Murder Dog Magazine).
Despite the project’s provocative cover art, “MANish” reflects the arrogance and compassion of a not so conflicted man, whose disposition is being a native of the unforgiving streets of Oakland, California. Oakland’s truths are its mothers, its fathers, its city wide pride, blue collar mentality, pimps, homeless, its gangs and drugs, its hardened streets, as well as its green, rolling hills that constantly remind others both of where they are and where they will never reach. This is Oakland, “MANish”, and Bink$ Win$ton in all their contrasting glory.
Referred to as a “hip hop Phil Spector” (D. Scot Miller, East Bay Express), Bink$ Win$ton is the Executive Producer of this very fluid, entertaining EP. “MANish”, comprised of hard, melodic rhythms and heavy hearted bass is constructed with great care and deliberate precision. With guest appearances from The D.I.M.E., and original production from Bre$Ez, Bleszid, 8ight 5ive, and NastyFace, Bink$ skillfully offers a surreal vision to his listeners. From living your life out loud to being driven for success, “MANish” personalizes the experience on a level that is both relatable and tangible to listeners from every walk of life. While it is easy for men to feel Bink$ Win$ton, women alike can appreciate the honesty in his perspective and music.
To date Bink$’ music and videos can be found on over 100 hip hop sites/blogs worldwide – a google search would show that his material is not hard to find. And no stranger to the stage, he has opened for the likes of Slick Rick, San Quinn, Tash of Tha Alkoholiks, Iyaz, and K. Michelle to name a few. With that in mind, fans are encouraged to connect to him through social media and can expect promotional show dates throughout California through the fall and winter of 2013.

As a pioneer of East Coast Hip-Hop, Kool G Rap is one of the most influential rappers of the past three decades. As a member of the ground-breaking Juice Crew alongside acts like Biz Markie, Masta Ace, Craig G and others, he really helped carve the NYC sound. Necro’s story is on the same tip, a man who is like a ‘one man industry’ running his label, rapping, producing and much more. On November 19th they release their collaborative project The Godfathers ‘Once Upon A Crime’ which will be released on RBC/Psycho+Logical-Records and we got to hear a pre-release copy.
Hard-hitting, clever lyricism with a heavy coat of grime, this album is not for the faint hearted! Most bloodthirsty of fans have been hyped off the videos and news that’s came in the last few weeks, and this eighteen tracker really is worth the wait. Unapologetically letting rip, the minimalistic sample approach to the production gives the whole album a sound, a vibe and a substance. It’s real Hip-Hop through and through, and banger after banger there’s plenty to get your teeth stuck into.
Over the past several years, there have been a few album collaboration albums that have really worked, Edo G & Masta Ace, Cannibus & Keith Murray, and even Kayne West & Jay-Z to an extent. They only work if the science and chemistry is right and that can be heard on ‘Once Upon A Crime’ on various cuts. It’s living proof that old skool concepts can exist and still sound super fresh; leaving fans little to complain about. There are so many killer tracks and it all bangs hard. This is definitely one of the best independent albums of 2013.
