Rewd Adams Launch Party 18/02/2011

He’s only gone and done it, most folk, after building themselves a nice little buzz and bagging a healthy amount of one’s to watch last year [THE GUARDIAN / METRO / THE INDEPENDENT / BBC 1XTRA etc] would have stuck to plan A and ran with it! But no, not in the world of Drew Turnbull, formerly Skandal now known as REWD ADAMS!

The reason for the change? “to be honest I felt I’d grown up, I needed to spread my wings a little you know Rewd Adams feels more natural, more personal, more me”.

But to anyone that knows Rewd, they’ll know he’s never one to stick to plan A, or B, or C, or even D, E, F, G ……. So a change is no surprise. It definitely defines his journey so far and reflects his growth as an artist in the music scene thus far.

REWD AWAKENING marks the start of a new phase and anyone that’s familiar with his last output will notice that the levels have risen yet again. He’s still got that slap in your face delivery and the dirtiest canvas of audio bullets to paint on [provided by JETSUN / SIVEY / M-PHAZES – TALIB KWELI, REDMAN / JON PHONICS / ED STRONG / LOUDMOUTH MELVIN & BEAT BUTCHA – MAC MILLER, JADAKISS] but there’s a certain assurance and an added something to his performance that doesn’t go unnoticed this time round.

As soon as you press play you get the feeling that this feels more like an album and each track is as solid as the next. There are a couple of tracks you might recognize, including the massive “Kill Em With The Flow” remix featuring KLASHNEKOFF & P MONEY that was debuted on MISTA JAM’S RADIO 1 show last year, there’s also “Questions” produced by Jetsun that you should have seen a video for by now and the infectious “GO” produced by Sivey. The banging “Everyday” featuring BLACK THE RIPPER also pops up too, if you’ve not seen the video for this one then make sure you hunt it out. BTR’s back again on the inspirational “Drift Away” produced by BBC 2’s No Hat’s No Trainers associate Loudmouth Melvin as well.

So new New Year new Drew – It’s time to wake up – Rewd Adams!
